Tru-Trac promotes thermal and belt scanning for conveyor reliability
Tru-Trac is highlighting the increasing importance of combining thermal scanning with belt scanning technologies to enhance conveyor reliability in mining and bulk materials handling. David Pereira, Head of Sales at Tru-Trac, states that these advanced technologies allow operations to transition from reactive repairs to predictive, data-driven condition monitoring.
Thermal scanning identifies abnormal heat signatures that serve as early warning signs of component stress. This includes detecting failing bearings, excessive friction, lubrication breakdown, and misaligned components. By identifying these issues early, companies can prevent catastrophic failures that lead to production losses, infrastructure damage, and safety risks.
Additionally, belt scanning systems provide continuous monitoring of belt conditions, identifying surface damage, rip detection, splice integrity problems, thickness loss, and tracking irregularities.
