Regional traffic updates: road changes in Tijuana and multiple accidents in Latin America
Various traffic incidents and infrastructure changes have been reported across several regions. In Tijuana, Mexico, the City Council implemented new traffic flow modifications in the Buena Vista neighborhood. These changes on Insurgentes and Sonorenses avenues aim to improve vehicle circulation and road safety by eliminating certain exits and U-turns near Las Américas Boulevard.
In Guatemala, a heavy transport vehicle overturned on the route to the Pacific in Villa Nueva, knocking down three utility poles. The Dirección General de Transportes (DGT) issued a fine of over Q25,000 to the vehicle owner for lacking a required speed limiter and proper pilot registration.
Multiple fatal and serious accidents occurred in Ecuador and Colombia. In Guayaquil, a truck collision on the Vía Perimetral resulted in a driver's death and significant traffic congestion. In Guayllabamba, a trailer struck a biscuit factory, injuring four people. Meanwhile, in Puerto Salgar, Colombia, a collision between a motorcycle and a heavy truck resulted in the death of a local veterinarian.
