Truck collision in Eferding district leaves one injured

A collision between two heavy goods vehicles occurred on the morning of August 17, 2026, on the Brandstadtbrücke (L1219 Brandstatter Straße) in the Pupping municipality, within the Eferding district.

The accident involved two drivers from the Rohrbach district traveling in opposite directions between Eferding and Aschach an der Donau. For unknown reasons, the vehicles sideswiped each other near the bridge. The impact caused the 60-year-old driver's truck to strike guardrails multiple times, severely damaging the cab. The driver managed to extricate himself from the wreckage.

The second truck, operated by a 35-year-old, was pulling a trailer that detached during the collision, subsequently damaging two other vehicles traveling toward Aschach. While the 60-year-old driver was transported to Med Campus III of the Kepler University Hospital with injuries of an unspecified degree, all other involved parties remained uninjured. Police confirmed that alcohol tests for all participants returned negative results.
