Truck collision on Denmark's E45 near Kolding causes 20‑km traffic jam

A collision involving a truck and a passenger car occurred on the E45 motorway near Kolding on June 12, prompting the closure of two of the three lanes. Only a single lane remained open, with traffic directed to proceed cautiously. The Danish Road Directorate warned of extended travel times of 30 to 60 minutes, expecting the congestion to last until about 17:00. The queue stretched roughly 10 km onto both the E45 and the adjoining Taulov motorway, affecting drivers between Herslev and the Lillebæltsbroen. Police, fire services and rescue teams responded to the scene and kept part of the road operational while cleanup continued.

A related report described a “medbringertruck” involved in the same incident, showing damage to a vehicle on the side of the road and confirming that the crash occurred shortly after the E20/E45 merge near Kolding. The same lane closures and delay estimates were reported by the Road Directorate.
