Truck driver faces court after entering railway crossing on red light
A 34-year-old truck driver from the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship is facing court proceedings after a dangerous incident at a railway crossing in Szymocice, near Racibórz. On the morning of Friday, October 16, the driver bypassed stationary vehicles and entered the crossing despite a red light and a lowered barrier.
The incident was witnessed by a police officer on his way to work, who subsequently reported the driver. Authorities confirmed the driver was sober at the time of the encounter. The event has drawn attention to road safety, particularly following a fatal railway collision in Sokolniki Suche in September, where a truck driver ignored a red light, resulting in a train derailment and one fatality.
