Truck driver kidnapped and robbed on Route 9 in Argentina

A truck driver from Zavalla, Santa Fe, was kidnapped and robbed while traveling along National Route 9 near Zárate, Buenos Aires province. The incident occurred around 6:15 AM when two vehicles, a dark Renault Logan and a white Ford Fiesta, intercepted the driver at gunpoint and forced him off the road.

The assailants hooded the victim and held him captive for approximately two hours. During this time, they used technology to inhibit the vehicle's satellite tracking signals. The driver was eventually released in General Rodríguez with his belongings intact, though the stress of the event impacted his health due to pre-existing hypertension.

While the semi-trailer, which was loaded with cardboard, was later recovered in the General Rodríguez area, the truck itself—a Mercedes Benz Axor 2040—remains missing. The victim's family is urgently seeking the vehicle, noting it is his primary tool for work, and has reported facing extortion attempts following the robbery.
