Truck driver linked to fatal collision on Highway 45 in Cosío

A truck driver, identified as Antonio “N”, has been linked to a legal process for involuntary homicide, involuntary injury, and property damage following a fatal collision on Federal Highway 45 in the municipality of Cosío.

The accident occurred on July 11, 2024, when the driver of a Kenworth truck attempted to overtake a Faw tractor-trailer. The collision resulted in the death of 46-year-old driver Juan Francisco Galván and left two others, including a minor, injured. While the driver remains free, a judge has imposed precautionary measures, including periodic reporting to authorities and a prohibition on leaving the state. The investigation is scheduled to conclude in two months.
