Truck drivers injured in separate Spanish road accidents

On 25 June 2026 a 58‑year‑old driver of a truck carrying household appliances for the company Einsa was injured after his vehicle fell about 30 metres down an embankment near Cabanas in the province of A Coruña (kilometre 3 of the AC‑563). The driver managed to get out of the cab on his own, was lifted onto a stretcher by firefighters from As Pontes and Mugardos, received first‑aid from ambulance personnel and was taken to the University Hospital of Ferrol for treatment.

Two days earlier, on 23 June 2026 a 68‑year‑old driver of a truck transporting 205 pigs lost control on the CV‑124 near Forcall, Castellón, and the vehicle rolled into a ravine roughly 20 metres below the road. Rescue teams, including the regional fire service, the Civil Guard and SAMU medical crews, extricated the driver, who suffered a hip and femur fracture and poly‑trauma. He was stabilised on site, then air‑lifted to the General Hospital of Castellón. Several of the pigs died in the crash.

Both incidents prompted coordinated emergency responses involving fire brigades, medical services and the police, and resulted in hospitalisation of the drivers.
