Romania reports multiple severe traffic accidents on DN 7 and DN 17

Multiple serious traffic accidents have been reported across different regions in Romania.

In Călimănești, Vâlcea County, a truck driver lost control and struck a fuel pump at a service station on DN 7. The impact caused a significant fuel leak and required the deployment of CBRN emergency units. The driver, a 58-year-old Turkish national, was found to have a blood alcohol concentration of 0.93 mg/l. The incident led to the temporary closure of the DN 7 highway to manage explosion risks and fuel spills.

In Șieu-Măgheruș, a severe collision on DN 17 involved five people. A car carrying a woman, an 18-year-old, and two children was struck by another vehicle. The 18-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries and required resuscitation after entering cardiac arrest. Both the 40-year-old driver and the 18-year-old remain in critical condition in intensive care. Following the crash, a fire also broke out at the family's home, likely caused by an uncleaned chimney.

Additionally, a collision involving three vehicles occurred on DN 7 in Drăganu, Argeș County, where a 31-year-old woman was injured and hospitalized after her car was projected into a truck.
