Truck overturns block Brazilian highways, cause traffic jams

On 16 July 2026 a truck loaded with bricks tipped over on the SP‑255 highway near São Manuel in São Paulo state, blocking the roadway and triggering stop‑and‑go traffic in both directions. Police patrols and the concessionaire Arteris managed the incident; no injuries were reported.

A separate incident occurred on the night of 17 July 2026 when a chicken‑laden truck overturned on BR‑376 near Imbaú, Paraná. The southbound lane was closed for about four hours, creating a traffic queue up to three kilometres long. Authorities signaled the site, transferred the load and reopened one lane; again, no victims were recorded. Both accidents caused significant local congestion but resulted in no casualties.
