Truck overturns on Bavaria's Staatsstraße 2190, causing road closure
A 58‑year‑old truck driver was lightly injured when his heavily loaded lorry tipped onto its side on Staatsstraße 2190 between Kasendorf and Azendorf in Bavaria on Thursday morning at around 05:10. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered bruises and abrasions and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The spill of the split‑load of gravel covered the entire carriageway, prompting the deployment of roughly 30 emergency personnel, including fire crews and a crane for recovery. Damage to the vehicle and road infrastructure is estimated at about €150,000. The road remains fully closed, with motorists diverted while cleanup and removal continue.
Authorities say the cause of the loss of control is still under investigation.
