Truckee community organizations announce local awards and arts grants

The Truckee Chamber of Commerce has announced the nominees for its 73rd Annual Top of the Town Awards, scheduled for September 25, 2026, at the Alder Creek Adventure Center. The awards recognize local businesses, organizations, and individuals for their leadership and service to the Truckee region. Nominees include various entities across categories such as Business of the Year, New Business of the Year, Outstanding Customer Service, and Business Leader/Entrepreneur of the Year.

In a separate community development initiative, Nevada County Arts & Culture has awarded $14,000 in mini-grants to fourteen artists through the Truckee Cultural District Mini-Grants Program. These funds are intended to support small-scale, community-centered projects designed to increase accessibility for emerging and grassroots artists. Projects include zine events, winter-themed exhibitions, dance performances, and community art installations.
