True Food Kitchen files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy

True Food Kitchen, a wellness-focused restaurant chain, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The company is utilizing the restructuring process to address its cost structure and restaurant footprint.

As part of this reorganization, the chain has permanently closed 12 locations. However, the company stated that 34 restaurants across 14 states remain open and are continuing to serve guests. This includes the Palo Alto location at Stanford Shopping Center, which a spokesperson confirmed is “continuing to operate as usual.”

Bankruptcy filings reveal that True Food Kitchen owes $618,210 in unpaid rent to the Stanford Shopping Center. Simon Property Group, the owner of the center, has not commented on the matter.
