True North Analytical opens Minnesota's first dedicated cannabis testing lab

True North Analytical has opened a new facility in Roseville, Minnesota, marking the state’s first laboratory dedicated exclusively to cannabis and hemp testing. The laboratory aims to support the expanding local cannabis industry by providing scientific testing that meets the standards set by the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM).

The facility offers a comprehensive range of services, including analysis for potency, microbials, pesticide residue, heavy metals, residual solvents, terpenes, water activity, mycotoxins, and foreign materials. By adhering to the state-mandated 10-day turnaround time, the lab seeks to mitigate product scarcity and testing backlogs currently affecting producers and retailers.

Founder Stephanie Fettig-Scholl stated that the laboratory’s goal is to ensure cannabis products meet the same safety standards as food and medicine, providing accurate data that allows businesses and consumers to make informed decisions.
