Trujillo: Explosive detonated at residence in Santa Inés

An explosive device was detonated at the entrance of a two-story residence in the Santa Inés urbanization of Trujillo, La Libertad. The incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. on Los Rubíes Street, causing a loud blast that was heard across several nearby neighborhoods.

The explosion damaged the exterior of the property, specifically affecting the main wooden door and a black iron gate, which was knocked out of alignment. Experts from the Explosive Deactivation Unit (UDEX) inspected the scene and estimated that the device used may have been dynamite.

More than 20 National Police officers deployed to the area to secure the site and begin investigations. Authorities are currently reviewing surveillance cameras to identify the perpetrators and their escape route. According to the affected family, they had not received any prior threats. Medical personnel from the Emergency Medical Care System (SAMU) attended to the residents of the home.
