Trujillo school receives threats of armed attack and explosives
The Colegio Parroquial Sagrado Corazón in Trujillo, Peru, is under investigation following threats of an armed attack involving firearms and explosives. The warning was circulated via the SieWeb Intranet platform and an email sent to a teacher, threatening a shooting and the use of explosives within the school facilities.
In response to the threat, some parents opted to keep their children home, though the regional manager of education, Rufino Rodríguez, stated that academic activities for the school's 800 female students continued. The institution considered transitioning to virtual classes as a preventive measure.
Police and specialized units are investigating the origin of the messages. Authorities noted that the threat shares similarities with a similar incident reported in a school in Paraguay approximately one month ago, suggesting a possible link to the same group of perpetrators, though this connection is still being verified.
