Truls Möregårdh wins WTT Champions Macau men's title
Swedish table tennis player Truls Möregårdh won the men’s singles title at the WTT Champions tournament in Macau, China. In the final, the world number 5 defeated Brazil’s Hugo Calderano with a score of 4-1 (11-7, 11-9, 3-11, 11-8, 11-9).
Calderano, ranked seventh in the world, previously defeated Sweden’s Anton Källberg in the semifinals before falling to Möregårdh. Calderano finished the tournament in second place, while Félix Lebrun secured the bronze medal.
In the women’s division, Miwa Harimoto won the title after a seven-set match against China’s Chen Yi. This tournament marked a notable shift in results, as it was the first time the competition concluded without a title for a Chinese player.
