Trump administration implements new space policy and Kushner meets with Jeffries

The Trump administration has introduced a new National Space Transportation Policy via National Security Presidential Memorandum 17. The policy aims to overhaul the American space system to support over 1,000 space vehicle launches and returns annually by 2030. To achieve this, the Department of Transportation has been tasked with identifying new launch site locations and expanding existing infrastructure within 180 days.

Separately, Jared Kushner, an advisor to President Trump, held a private meeting in New York with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. The discussions reportedly covered socio-economic issues such as housing policy, immigration, and the cost of living. The meeting is viewed by observers as a potential effort to establish communication channels in anticipation of the upcoming midterm elections and possible shifts in Congressional power.
