Trump administration to hire 3,000 ICE agents for deportation drive
The Trump administration plans to hire 3,000 additional Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to accelerate deportation efforts across the United States. White House border czar Tom Homan stated that the expansion aims to increase operational capacity and address delays in immigration courts, noting that September saw a record number of removals.
Separately, Homan addressed the federal investigation into Representative Ilhan Omar regarding allegations of immigration fraud. Homan stated that if evidence proves Omar or her family lied during the naturalization process, she could face denaturalization and deportation, asserting that “no one is above the law.” The investigation focuses on whether birth year information was falsified on immigration paperwork during her family's arrival from Somalia in the late 1990s.
