Serbia parliamentary elections: 27 polling stations approved in BiH
The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina has unanimously approved 27 polling locations for Serbian citizens residing in the country to vote in Serbia’s extraordinary parliamentary elections on Sunday, October 25. Voting will take place from 7:00 to 20:00 at locations including the Serbian Embassy in Sarajevo, consulates in Banja Luka and Mostar, and various consular offices and schools across the region.
Approximately 19,800 Serbian citizens have registered to vote in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with roughly 90 percent residing in Republika Srpska. While the legal framework for this voting is based on a 2002 agreement, experts have raised concerns regarding potential electoral manipulation, such as the use of fictitious residencies or bribery to influence results.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković noted that the approval followed political negotiations with the SNSD, suggesting the decision was part of a broader resolution of previously blocked state-level issues. Meanwhile, in Serbia, the upcoming elections are viewed as a critical test for President Aleksandar Vučić’s SNS party against a rising student-led movement.
