White House bans CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from press credentials
The Trump administration has revoked the White House press credentials of CNN, MS NOW, and Politico, prompting a major legal and media standoff. The three outlets have filed a lawsuit alleging the ban violates First Amendment protections and due process rights, describing the move as a direct assault on constitutional principles.
In a coordinated show of solidarity, major broadcasters including ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox News have suspended their participation in the White House television press pool. Additionally, the New York Times announced it would withhold the distribution of White House press pool photographs, and various photographers have delayed publishing images to support the banned journalists.
