Trump reinstates cancelled Kansas and Iowa rallies

President Donald Trump has reversed his decision to cancel in-person campaign rallies in Kansas and Iowa, rescheduling both events to take place back-to-back on Sunday. The reversal follows initial announcements that the president would instead focus on approximately 20 tele-rallies to reach voters across multiple states.

The decision comes during the final stretch of the 2026 midterm elections, with Republicans fighting to maintain control of Congress. In Kansas, Republican Senator Roger Marshall is facing a competitive challenge from Democrat Adam Hamilton. In Iowa, Republican Representative Ashley Hinson is in a close contest with Democrat Josh Turek.

The sudden change in schedule and the initial cancellations prompted questions regarding the president’s health and stamina. Trump dismissed these concerns, stating he feels “perfect” and arguing that he did not feel a necessity to travel to Kansas given the strong position of local Republican candidates.
