Azerbaijan condemns coordinated disinformation attacks from Turkey and Iran

Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis and the Media and Mass Information Council have issued strong condemnations regarding coordinated information attacks against the country. Officials reported an intensification of targeted disinformation campaigns originating from Turkey and Iran, specifically utilizing platforms such as Telegram, TikTok, and X.

The Council described these activities as coordinated troll attacks characterized by the use of manipulated photos and videos, repetitive copy-paste comments, and the use of Azerbaijani hashtags by foreign-language accounts to manipulate public opinion. These campaigns are viewed as unacceptable interference in Azerbaijan's internal affairs and a violation of international principles of mutual respect and information security.

Additionally, the Milli Majlis expressed serious concern over unfounded accusations made by certain Turkish political figures and media outlets regarding Azerbaijan's internal policies and constitutional structure, emphasizing that Azerbaijan is a sovereign state that determines its own domestic and foreign policy.
