Chinese observers argue that these large-scale vessels offer superior combat autonomy compared to smaller, distributed naval forces. While modern U.S. naval doctrine relies on networked data exchange, such systems are vulnerable to electronic warfare and satellite interference. In contrast, the Trump-class battleships are described as self-sufficient 'fortresses' capable of detecting targets and engaging in combat using internal systems even when external communications are jammed.
