US Intelligence Docs Show Alleged Chinese Interference in 2020 Election

President Donald Trump disclosed on July 16, 2026 a batch of declassified documents that allege members of the U.S. Intelligence Community colluded with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to influence the 2020 presidential election. The materials claim the CCP accessed voter registration data for roughly 220 million Americans and that intelligence officials altered the President’s Daily Brief to conceal the extent of Chinese operations.

Investigative journalist Catherine Herridge highlighted a redacted email from a Chinese strategic analyst indicating intentional suppression of election‑related intelligence. Former FBI Deputy Assistant Director Nikki Floris later admitted in a September 2020 statement that she was “running a shadow government” within the FBI, describing efforts to suppress an intelligence report on fraudulent Chinese driver’s licenses that could have enabled ineligible voters to cast ballots.

The revelations tie together alleged data theft, document manipulation, and internal obstruction within U.S. agencies, raising concerns about election integrity and the influence of foreign actors.
