Trump election fraud task force releases records from past investigations
The White House task force established by President Donald Trump to uncover evidence of election fraud has failed to produce evidence of fraud. Instead, the group, led by journalist John Solomon, has shifted its focus to releasing law enforcement records from previous investigations into the president.
The released documents include materials from special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference and special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into the handling of classified documents. Trump allies view these records as potentially useful for an ongoing Justice Department investigation in Florida aimed at prosecuting former officials who investigated the president.
Legal experts and former law enforcement officials noted that the released records largely reflect standard investigative procedures authorized by courts. Meanwhile, the Florida-based investigation has struggled to secure indictments and has faced personnel challenges, including the resignation of prosecutor Joseph diGenova amid pressure to produce results.
