Trump family firms draw billions as supporters lose $7 bn and 1789 Capital secures $1.6 bn in contracts

A Forbes investigation found that supporters who bought Trump‑related assets such as Trump Media shares and the $TRUMP meme coin have suffered roughly $7 billion in paper losses. Many investors, including individual shareholders who invested hundreds of thousands of dollars, say they feel “scammed” as Trump’s family reported at least $2.2 billion in income last year, far exceeding the amount disclosed in official filings.

At the same time, Donald Trump Jr.’s investment firm 1789 Capital has expanded to manage more than $3 billion and is accused of profiting from its proximity to the White House. The firm’s portfolio includes defense, space and software companies that have been awarded about $1.6 billion in federal contracts in the first 500 days of the administration, and its stake in prediction‑market platform Polymarket helped lift the company’s valuation from $300 million to $15 billion after a regulatory ban was lifted.
