Trump family trust acquires Coinbase and other crypto-linked stocks in Q1 2026

A trust controlled by former President Donald Trump bought shares in several cryptocurrency‑related public companies during the first quarter of 2026. The purchases, disclosed in Form 278‑T filings with the U.S. Office of Government Ethics, include nine transactions in Coinbase stock, smaller buys of MARA Holdings, multiple trades in Strategy (a Bitcoin‑treasury firm), as well as positions in Robinhood, SoFi Technologies and Block. The filings show more than 3,600 transactions between January and March with a total reported value between $220 million and $750 million.

The trust’s portfolio also holds large positions in technology giants such as Nvidia, Microsoft, Apple and Amazon, but the crypto‑linked purchases represent a modest share of the overall holdings. The disclosures come as the Trump administration has taken a more supportive stance toward digital assets and as the Senate Banking Committee advanced the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, a bill aimed at clarifying crypto regulation.

Ethics rules require public officials and their families to report such holdings, prompting watchdog and media scrutiny over potential conflicts of interest given the administration’s policy agenda on stablecoins, exchange oversight and digital‑asset classification.
