Trump golf club manager advises Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool renovation
David Schutzenhofer, the general manager of the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, has been reported to have offered suggestions on the renovation of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C. According to federal documents and statements from the Interior Department, Schutzenhofer, a private citizen with no documented training in engineering or architecture, volunteered his time to guide the project and helped recruit Greenwater Services for a no‑bid contract valued at roughly $1.7‑$1.8 million to install a permanent purification system. The Interior Department spokesperson said he was unpaid and would have been required to complete ethics training had he become a government employee. The administration has claimed the overall work would cost $1.8 million, though a separate contract for related work was reported to exceed $13 million. Schutzenhofer declined to comment on his involvement.
