Trump Media ends Crypto.com deals, shifts focus to TAE merger

Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) has announced the termination of several major cryptocurrency-related agreements with Crypto.com and Yorkville Acquisition Corp.

The primary cancellation involves the 'Trump Media Group CRO Strategy' venture, a massive $6.4 billion proposal designed to create a publicly traded company focused on accumulating and staking Cronos (CRO) tokens. According to TMTG Interim CEO Kevin McGurn, the decision was driven by shifting business priorities and market saturation within the digital asset treasury sector rather than regulatory pressures.

In addition to the treasury venture, the companies are ending an agreement where Crypto.com would have serviced certain planned Yorkville America exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Furthermore, TMTG is scaling back plans to integrate prediction markets directly into its Truth Social platform, opting instead for a simpler marketing arrangement.

Following the announcement, the price of the CRO token saw a significant decline. TMTG is now redirecting its strategic focus toward its core media operations, data licensing through its Truth API, and a proposed $6 billion merger with fusion-energy developer TAE Technologies, which it aims to complete by late 2026.
