Trump Media reports $238 million quarterly loss

Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) reported a net loss of $238 million for the second quarter of 2026, a figure more than ten times higher than the loss recorded during the same period the previous year. The company's revenue for the quarter rose 89 percent year-over-year to $1.7 million.

The significant loss was primarily attributed to approximately $190.4 million in unrealized losses on digital assets, including cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. Following these results, interim CEO Kevin McGurn announced a strategic pivot to move away from non-media ventures, such as online betting and cryptocurrency, to refocus on the company's core social media mission.

To drive new revenue, TMTG launched the Truth API, a subscription service providing high-speed, low-latency access to posts from influential Truth Social accounts, including Donald Trump. The service is aimed at high-frequency trading firms and is reportedly priced between $60,000 and $100,000 per month. The company has already secured more than ten customer agreements for this service and is in discussions with potential clients in the artificial intelligence sector.
