Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to travel to Washington on Monday and meet U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday. The agenda includes the Iran nuclear issue, the situation in Gaza and a discussion of the International Stabilization Force that Israel’s security cabinet approved to enter Gaza. Netanyahu will also attend the funeral of the late U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, whom he described as a “great friend of Israel.”

The approved framework allows a force of about 200 personnel from friendly nations, including Uganda and Morocco, to operate in areas of Gaza not under Israeli control, though each contingent must receive separate Israeli approval before deployment. At the same time, Netanyahu warned that any Iranian attack on Israel would be met with a “very, very forceful” response and reiterated that Iran must end its nuclear programme regardless of whether a diplomatic deal is reached. The United States has temporarily paused its strike campaign against Iran, citing a need to give diplomacy space.

These developments come after five months of a joint U.S.–Israeli campaign against Iran and amid ongoing humanitarian concerns in Gaza following two years of war.
