Trump oil and gas holdings increase amid Iran conflict
A report from Democrats on the Congressional Joint Economic Committee reveals that President Donald Trump’s personal holdings in oil and gas stocks have nearly doubled in value since the end of 2025. His investments are now valued between $22.5 million and $81.6 million, up from a previous range of $12.6 million to $46 million.
The report indicates that the increase is driven by rising stock values and new purchases made after the conflict involving the U.S., Israel, and Iran began in late February. Data shows Trump purchased between $4.7 million and $17.5 million in oil and gas stocks between March and August, while selling between $2 million and $5.4 million in the same period. Major holdings include ExxonMobil and Chevron, both of which have seen share prices rise by more than 20 percent since February.
This financial growth occurs as American consumers face higher fuel costs due to the ongoing war. The national average gasoline price rose from $2.98 to $4.29 per gallon following the start of the conflict, with American families spending an estimated additional $101 billion on fuel.
