Trump outlines US housing executive order and potential business ties with Ukraine and Russia
US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order aimed at reducing housing acquisition and financing costs. A key component of the initiative is an increased focus on factory-built and modular homes. To support this, a ‘Manufactured Housing Innovation’ working group will be established to streamline certification, permitting, and financing for modern manufactured housing.
The order also includes measures to lower mortgage costs, such as a pilot program to automatically terminate mortgage insurance once a borrower has sufficient equity, alongside measures to reduce refinancing costs.
Separately, President Trump stated that the United States is prepared to expand business relations with both Ukraine and Russia once a peace agreement is reached. Speaking in Palm Beach, he noted that the US would look to engage in business with both nations following the conclusion of the current conflict.
First Lady Melania Trump commented on humanitarian pauses intended to rescue people in the town of Oleshky, Kherson region. The President suggested that the First Lady’s involvement in negotiating local pauses has yielded results, noting her focus on the safety of children and civilians.
