The post reignited concerns in Denmark and Greenland over Trump’s earlier statements about possibly using military force to take control of Greenland, a territory within the Danish Kingdom. The United States currently operates the Pituffik Space Base (formerly Thule) on Greenland’s north‑west coast, and Danish officials have emphasized that Greenland’s future must be decided by its own people. The Danish ambassador warned that the president’s message reflects a “dark” tone and could strain bilateral relations.
