Trump reverses plan to livestream Nidal Hasan execution

President Donald Trump has reversed a proposal to livestream the military execution of Nidal Hasan, the former Army major responsible for the 2009 mass shooting at Fort Hood, Texas. The decision follows significant opposition from Republican lawmakers, religious leaders, and the general public.

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth had previously announced that the execution, which will be carried out by firing squad, would be broadcast to the public. However, Trump stated in a social media post that while the broadcast could have served as a deterrent, many people would prefer not to witness the death of the convict through a digital medium.

The execution is scheduled for December 3. While the event will not be televised or streamed, the families of the victims will be permitted to attend and witness the proceedings in person.
