Trump says U.S. strikes on Iran will not last long

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that recent military strikes against Iran “will not last too long,” asserting that the United States is prepared to conduct further strikes at any time. Trump claimed the operations were necessary to neutralize Iranian efforts to rebuild radar, missile, and sea mine systems, specifically noting the destruction of a nearly completed mine-laying rocket.

The strikes targeted approximately 100 locations, including Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) air defenses, radar bases, maritime assets, and communication facilities. In response to the U.S. actions, Iran has conducted retaliatory strikes against U.S. assets and military bases in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates.

The humanitarian impact of the recent strikes is significant. Iranian Health Minister Mohammad-Reza Jafargandi reported 18 deaths and 108 injuries resulting from the attacks. One specific incident involved U.S. missile debris hitting a residential building during a wedding in southern Khuzestan, killing four people, including a child, and injuring over 50 others. The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned the strikes as an “act of aggression” and vowed to defend the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
