Trump signals progress on Mexico trade and Ukraine negotiations

U.S. President Donald Trump indicated that negotiations with Mexico are nearing a conclusion regarding the reduction of tariffs on specific products, including steel, aluminum, and vehicles. This aligns with statements from Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum, who noted significant progress in discussions while acknowledging that several issues remain unresolved.

Separately, Trump suggested that a resolution to the conflict in Ukraine may be imminent. He stated that negotiations involving Russia, Ukraine, and the United States are expected to take place soon. This follows a meeting in Saint Petersburg between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff.

Russian officials have indicated readiness for trilateral negotiations. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitri Peskov noted that talks involving Moscow, Kyiv, and Washington are tentatively scheduled for November in Abu Dhabi.
