Trump to use Qatar-donated Boeing 747 for Ireland visit
Donald Trump is expected to use a Boeing 747 gifted by Qatar for his upcoming visit to Ireland, where he will attend the Irish Open at his Doonbeg golf course. This marks the aircraft's first international trip since security concerns were raised following a July incident in Turkey. During a NATO summit in Ankara, Trump was reportedly secretly transferred from the Qatari jet to a military aircraft due to a credible Iranian threat.
The aircraft, valued at approximately $400 million, is currently undergoing or awaiting further security upgrades to ensure it is fully capable of operating in any territory. Trump stated the plane needs to be “maxed out” to be completely safe. Additional security work is scheduled to begin in October and is expected to last about 60 days. In preparation for the Ireland visit, the US Secret Service is reportedly on high alert. Security measures in Dublin and Co. Clare are expected to be extensive. During his stay, Trump is scheduled to meet with Irish Taoiseach Micheál Martin to discuss global stability and peace, as well as a brief courtesy visit with President Catherine Connolly.
