Trump's Gaza peace deal hailed by Saudi Arabia and Jordan

Saudi Arabia's foreign ministry said it welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump's announcement of a historic Gaza agreement, praising American leadership and the contributions of regional partners such as Egypt, Qatar and Turkey. The ministry reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s full commitment to implement the comprehensive peace plan outlined in United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803, calling for the complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, deployment of an international stabilization force, uninterrupted humanitarian aid, reconstruction, the return of the Palestinian Authority to the Strip and the preservation of Palestinian territorial unity.

Jordan's foreign ministry issued a similar statement, commending President Trump’s role and the joint effort of regional and international actors. Jordan pledged to work with its neighbours and partners to carry out all stages of the peace plan within a set timeframe, emphasizing the need for Israeli disengagement, humanitarian assistance, rebuilding, and the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with the two‑state solution endorsed by the UN resolution.
