Truong Tuoi Group sponsors inaugural U16 National Football Championship

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) and Truong Tuoi Group have officially announced the launch of the U16 National Championship, known as the Truong Tuoi Cup 2026. This marks the first time a national-level competition for the U16 age group has been established in Vietnam, serving to bridge the gap between the existing U15 and U17 national tournaments.

Truong Tuoi Group has signed on as the main sponsor for a three-year term, spanning from 2026 to 2028. The tournament aims to provide young players with increased professional match experience and assist coaches in identifying talent for future national teams.

A notable feature of the new regulations is the inclusion of overseas-based players. Each team is permitted to register a maximum of one naturalized player and one player of Vietnamese descent living abroad. Additionally, clubs may include up to six 14-year-old players in their squads to encourage early development.

The inaugural season will feature 10 professional clubs divided into two groups. Group A includes U16 Cong An Ha Noi, The Cong-Viettel, Ha Noi, PVF-CAND, Song Lam Nghe An, and Hai Phong. Group B consists of U16 Ninh Binh, Hoang Anh Gia Lai, Cong An TP. HCM, and Becamex TP. HCM. The qualifying round is scheduled to run from August 22 to November 29.
