Truro police arrest man following unexplained death in car park

Police have arrested a 44-year-old man in connection with the unexplained death of a 41-year-old man in Truro. The deceased was discovered on the ground floor of the Moorfield Car Park on Calenick Street at approximately 10:45 am on Monday, August 17.

The suspect is currently in custody and faces suspicion of theft, administering a noxious substance, and assault causing grievous bodily harm.

Detectives are continuing significant enquiries, including forensic examinations, searches, and the review of CCTV footage to establish the circumstances of the death. A police cordon remains in place around the ground floor of the car park, though the outside parking area remains open. Authorities are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area between the afternoon of Friday, August 14, and the morning of Monday, August 17.
