Trusco Nakayama sells 300 personal cooling boxes in four months

Trusco Nakayama has seen significant sales for its “TRUSCO Personal Cooling Box ‘Do-Emon BOX’,” a specialized cooling unit designed for individuals to enter. Despite a high price tag of 1.5 million yen, approximately 300 units were sold within roughly four months of its release.

Unlike traditional spot coolers or industrial fans that target specific body parts, this box-shaped unit cools the entire body by maintaining an internal temperature of 15 degrees Celsius and delivering cold air as low as 5 degrees Celsius. The product was inspired by frozen food vending machines and aims to provide an efficient way for workers to cool down quickly during breaks.

The units are being adopted across various sectors, including manufacturing plants, construction sites, warehouses, outdoor event venues, and golf courses, to mitigate heatstroke risks and manage heat exposure in high-temperature environments.
