Trump Media launches paid Truth API delivering fast access to President's posts for traders

Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) announced a new licensed data feed called “Truth API” that will give banks, hedge funds and other high‑frequency trading firms the fastest possible access to posts from the most influential accounts on Truth Social, most notably President Donald Trump. The service, slated to begin on August 1, 2026, will deliver content in milliseconds, allowing algorithmic traders to react before the general public sees the posts.

Interim CEO Kevin McGurn said, “Markets already move on Truth Social posts,” citing the April 9, 2025 index surge after Trump announced a tariff pause. The company expects the product to become a “meaningful, ongoing source of revenue.” Trump holds roughly 41 % of TMTG’s shares through his revocable trust.

Legal experts have highlighted conflict‑of‑interest concerns. Kathleen Clark of Washington University School of Law described the offering as “selling expedited, privileged access to information about what he is doing as president,” and ethics attorney Virginia Canter called it “a huge conflict of interest.” Reports indicate the service could be priced as high as $100,000 per month for premium access.

The move adds a new revenue stream for TMTG as it struggles to grow its media business amid competition from larger platforms, while regulators and lawmakers scrutinize the potential for market‑distorting advantages.
