Try Angle launches travel project for families of children with medical needs

The general incorporated association Try Angle, in collaboration with the Kanazawa-based accommodation facility Yuya Ruru Saisai, has launched the fourth call for families to participate in the ‘Memories Bridge Project.’ This initiative invites families with children requiring medical care or those with severe physical and mental disabilities to experience their first overnight trip.

Recognizing that approximately 20,000 children in Japan require daily medical support such as ventilator management or suctioning, the project aims to lower the barriers to travel caused by the need for specialized equipment and power sources. The program seeks to foster a society where everyone can enjoy travel while helping accommodation providers improve their ability to serve diverse guests.

The fourth round of the project will offer overnight stays for three families (up to four members per group) between October 2026 and March 2027. Eligible applicants must reside in Ishikawa, Fukui, or Toyama prefectures and have not yet experienced an overnight trip since their child's disability was identified. Funding for the stays is provided through a portion of the accommodation revenue from Yuya Ruru Saisai.
