Tryg Forsikring is warning owners of motorhomes, caravans, and vintage cars about the risks associated with winter storage. Many owners choose to deregister their vehicles to avoid traffic insurance fees, but this action automatically terminates mandatory liability insurance and coverage for driver and passenger accidents.

Experts warn that even while stationary, vehicles remain vulnerable to damage from rodents, moisture, and theft. To mitigate these risks, owners are advised to empty water systems to prevent frost damage, clean out all food to avoid attracting pests, and remove valuables. Additionally, owners must remember to re-register their vehicles in the spring to avoid driving illegally without insurance coverage.
