Tsai Chin announces retirement from music stage

Renowned singer Tsai Chin has announced her intention to retire from the music industry. During a performance at the ‘2026 Beautiful and Wonderful Night’ event, the 68-year-old vocalist revealed that her final performance will take place on December 31, 2027.

Addressing her audience with emotion, Tsai stated, “There is no eternal Tsai Chin,” and urged fans to cherish their connection while she is still performing. She expressed deep gratitude to her supporters, noting that a singer without appreciative listeners would be very lonely.

Reports also indicate that Tsai has previously mentioned health concerns, specifically severe light sensitivity in her eyes caused by long-term exposure to stage lighting, which requires her to wear sunglasses in daily life.
