Tsai Yi-yu and Yeh Meng-lung propose technology park for Xingang

Democratic Progressive Party candidates Tsai Yi-yu and Yeh Meng-lung have established a joint campaign headquarters in Xingang to promote the development of a new technology industrial park.

Tsai identified Xingang as a strategic intersection between Chiayi’s semiconductor industry axis, centered around the TSMC facilities in Taipo Science Park, and the drone and defense industry axis at the Minxiong Aerospace Base. The plan involves transforming the approximately 200-hectare Xingang Farm into a technology park focused on new energy, new materials, and silicon photonics to support the semiconductor and UAV sectors.

Economic Minister Kung Ming-hsin attended the event, emphasizing the need to prepare the Xingang Farm zone for incoming businesses and noting government support for small and medium-sized enterprises. Additionally, local officials discussed tourism development, including the potential conversion of the Xingang Elementary School Natural History Education Hall into a tourist exhibition hall.
