Tsarevets Fortress launches new digital audio guide
The Tsarevets Fortress in Veliko Tarnovo has introduced a new digital audio guide system designed to enhance the experience for individual tourists. Developed to provide a more engaging way to explore the history of the Second Bulgarian Empire, the service is available in Bulgarian, English, and Romanian.
The audio tour consists of 20 scenes, each lasting approximately two minutes, covering a natural route through the fortress from the main entrance and the Royal Palace to the Patriarchate. To ensure uninterrupted playback in areas with weak mobile coverage, the content is designed to load entirely onto a visitor's mobile phone upon the initial opening.
This initiative is part of the Veliko Tarnovo Municipality's strategy to modernize and digitalize cultural and historical tourism. The audio guide is also available at the ‘Tsarevgrad Tarnov’ multimedia visitor center, which serves as both an introduction to the medieval capital and a summary of the site. During the initial launch period, the service will be provided free of charge to test its effectiveness.
