TÜSEDAD seeks clarity on 2026 raw milk support payments

Milk producers in Turkey are facing uncertainty as the government has yet to announce the raw milk support amounts and payment schedules for 2026. Despite entering August, the support rates for the first quarter (January-March) of 2026 remain unannounced.

Müslüm Doğru, Chairman of the All Milk, Meat and Breeding Cattle Breeders Association (TÜSEDAD), noted that this lack of predictability hinders the planned production model in livestock farming. The delay makes it difficult for producers to manage financial planning, specifically regarding cash flow for essential costs such as feed, energy, and labor.

Under the current three-year support model covering 2024-2026, payments are distributed in three-month increments. While the 2025 support rate was set at 20 kuruş per liter, the specific figures and payment timelines for the 2026 production year have not been established.
